New Fortress Energy contracted CEAC Outsourcing/HAZPRO to dispose of Annex V (food waste) aboard a LNG tanker vessel stationed a few miles off of Jamaica’s south coast. Due to local regulations, international food waste must be incinerated and not land filled.

The role of CEAC included:

  • Coordination with MOH and its quarantine officers across multiple parishes to safely transport waste to HAZPRO facility
  • Collection and transportation of waste
  • Documentation & record keeping of chain of custody
  • Incineration
  • Emissions monitoring and analysis to maintain environmental compliance
  • Reporting to the National Environment Planning Agency (NEPA)
  • Ash storage
  • Ash disposal
  • Provision of “certificate of completion” I.e Evidence of environmentally compliant waste management/ disposal/ treatment
