New Fortress Energy contracted CEAC Outsourcing/HAZPRO to dispose of Annex V (food waste) aboard a LNG tanker vessel stationed a few miles off of Jamaica’s south coast. Due to local regulations, international food waste must be incinerated and not land filled.
The role of CEAC included:
- Coordination with MOH and its quarantine officers across multiple parishes to safely transport waste to HAZPRO facility
- Collection and transportation of waste
- Documentation & record keeping of chain of custody
- Incineration
- Emissions monitoring and analysis to maintain environmental compliance
- Reporting to the National Environment Planning Agency (NEPA)
- Ash storage
- Ash disposal
- Provision of “certificate of completion” I.e Evidence of environmentally compliant waste management/ disposal/ treatment
